Crown Princess Victoria and Prince Daniel of Sweden have arrived in Italy for a three day tour. While Prince Oscar stayed in the hotel room and Princess Estelle stayed home to finish her school term, mum and dad began their trip, focused on promoting health, cultural and business issues, in Rome.

Victoria and Daniel's first stop was the Chamber of Deputies where they met its president, Laura Boldrini to discuss health and gender issues.

The royal couple then visited the Order of Birgitta Sisters at their convent in Piazza Farnese. The order was founded by St Birgitta of Sweden in the 14th century and Victoria met the current General Abbess, Mother Fabia, and her immediate predecessor, Mother Tekla.

The day's engagements continued at AS Roma football club where Victoria and Daniel saw a scheme that gives disabled children access to top level coaching in the sport to support their wellbeing.

There was another taste of home for the Crown Princess of Sweden in the evening as she and her husband attended the annual Lucia reception at the Swedish Embassy.

Day two of their visit will see Victoria and Daniel carry out more engagements in Rome before moving on to Milan.
