It's been a vintage tour and as it began to draw to an end, Prince Harry became a veteran. As the prince stopped off in Guyana, the last country of his visit, he met those who have served their country and they liked Harry so much they made him an honorary member of their Veterans' Legion. Considering his devotion to helping veterans, seen in his passion for the Invictus Games, it might well be on the list of Harry's highlights for this tour. Welcome to Royal Visit Guyana.

Harry touched down in Georgetown and like the well brought up royal he is, he headed straight to pay a courtesy visit with the President of Guyana, David Granger.

There was a warm welcome outside for Harry as well as he stopped for a walkabout before travelling to the Independence Monument where he laid a wreath.  Guyana is marking the 50th anniversary of its independence this year.

Prince Harry then spent time at Camp Ayanganna, the headquarters of the Guyana Defence Force, where he got his special honour, During a meeting with officers, cadets and veterans he clearly made an impression. The 32 year old prince left as an honorary member of the Veterans Legion.

The actions of those who fought for their country were never far from Harry's thoughts on this day of the tour and his next act was to lay a wreath at the Commonwealth War Graves Memorial in Georgetown in memory of those who died for their nation.

The evening saw Harry as guest of honour at a reception given by the British High Commissioner at his residence although the show came close to being stolen by Scruffy Nellie the dog who turned up looking cute and found a royal fan. Prince Harry will spend two more days in Guyana before his tour comes to an end. December 3rd will see him visit remote villages in the country.
