Queen Silvia of Sweden at Kuwait's National University

Queen Silvia of Sweden has never just been content to accept patronages and support causes. The Swedish consort is just as well known for setting up organisations to work in areas of big importance to her. And she has just been to Kuwait to support the work of one which has spent over twenty years trying to educate children and young people.
During her three day visit, Queen Silvia attended a graduation ceremony at Kuwait National Library for those working towards becoming mentors. She also met a group of children and young people between the ages of 9 and 14 from schools across Kuwait who were taking part in programmes to understand the risks of drugs. There was a chance to meet members of the Mentor board in the country while the visit also included a gala dinner at which Queen Silvia gave a speech thanking those working with Mentor in the area. The cause is another close to Silvia's heart and with this visit she has once again shown her commitment to making a difference.
