A royal christening in Sweden

Prince Alexander of Sweden will be christened after the summer holidays

Prince Alexander's christening will take place on September 9th 2016. The announcement was made today by the Swedish Royal Court.

The little prince will be baptised at Drottningholm Palace Church as summer starts to give way to autumn. Little Alexander will be almost five months old by the time he is christened.  That means he will be older than his four cousins were on their christening days with Estelle, Leonore, Nicolas and Oscar all around the age of three months when they were baptised.  Further details of his baptism will be announced nearer the time.

Prince Alexander Erik Hubertus Bertil of Sweden, Duke of Sodermanland was born on April 19th 2016 and is the first child for Prince Carl Philip and Princess Sofia.  He is currently fifth in line to his country's throne.
