The royal girls rule the headlines

It's a kind of poll of sorts. The newspapers have picked which of the four  photos of Princess Charlotte's christening to put on their front pages and the girls win. Just. Slightly more of the main papers went with the image of Charlotte in her mother's arms, having a girls together moment, than any of the other snaps released so far.  It's royal girl power.

The Mario Testino portrait of mother and daughter is chosen by the Scotsman as well as the Daily Mail for their front pages. It's been an epic wait for the images - after all, the christening was on Sunday - but the photo of Kate and Charlotte together seems to have swept the board as the official photo of the day.

The Daily Mirror also goes for the all girl image, perhaps because of the four photos shared it's the one that gives us the best view of Charlotte's face.

The Daily Express, like the Mirror, squeezes two of the images onto just part of its front page but while there's a small close up of Charlotte featured, they lead with the portrait of the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge with their two children.

The Daily Telegraph puts the family shot on its front page as well. But none of the main papers chose to lead with the large family photo featuring other members of the Royal Family and the Middletons. Just like the christening itself, the official photos are all about a small and family focused event.
